Design: The South Dakota 25 Goldback features the Virtue Laurea, or Honor, inspired by a legend from Maiden’s Isle on Lake Kampeska. The story tells of Minnecotah, a young woman in love with a hunter from Wahpeton. To fend off other suitors, she challenged them to throw a stone the farthest into the lake, promising to marry the winner.
