holds scales to represent balance and fairness, while her left hand holds a sword symbolizing 
the defense of truth. A blindfold covers her eyes to show impartiality. Inscribed on her belt is the 
word “Deseret,” meaning honeybee—a reference to the original name proposed for the Beehive 
State. 
The scene is set near Moab, Utah and features Balanced Rock in Arches National Park. This 
recognizable landmark symbolizes the delicate nature of justice. Above, a bald eagle soars as 
an emblem of freedom and power, while the UV layer reveals a rabbit clutched in its talons.
